Job Description
The Azure Implementation Engineer will engage with customer organizational stakeholders to evangelize and position adoption across an Azure Hybrid Cloud strategy and assist existing Solution Architects in implementing Azure Hybrid Services including Azure Stack HCI and integration with Azure Gov Cloud. The creation of some Azure low-level design work will be expected and a close working relationship with the customer will be essential to help them deploy services into Azure.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Implement Azure Hybrid Cloud Services based on Azure design patterns and best practices in support of existing workload migrations, new development concepts, and new projects
- Work with Cloud Architects to ensure accurate configuration and integration of Azure Services
- Create low level documentation around the setup and configuration of those Azure services
- Implementation of Azure environments
- Participate in non-functional testing, particularly around business resiliency
- Provide technical oversight, review and quality control of Azure artifacts and other documentation
- Contribute to the development of Azure standards, best practices and organizational capability
Experience
- Professional experience implementing Azure Services including PaaS and IaaS
- Hands on experience creating and executing ARM templates
- Hands on experience integrating Active Directory with Azure AD
- Hands on experience integrating Azure SQL and Web apps securely in Azure
- Understanding of elasticity and scalability concepts
Technical Skills
- Broad project lifecycle experience - especially in cloud enterprise environments
- Expert knowledge of Azure Cloud platform features and capabilities
- Networking (TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, reverse proxies, routing, switching etc.)
- Azure Networking (VNETs, VPN Gateway, Traffic Manager, NSGs)
- Security (firewall configuration, IPS/IDS etc.)
- Experience implementing Azure disaster recovery services
- Experienced implementing multi-tiered, load balanced, redundant infrastructure architectures
- Familiarity with other cloud technologies
