Senior Power Electronics Design Engineer
Important: Contractor must work onsite and have active secret clearance.
In this position you will work closely with multi-disciplinary teams designing, developing, and verifying power and analog electronics for use in a wide array of applications. These applications include miniature power conversion and management circuitry, radiation hardened designs, novel battery management circuitry, small motor controllers, switched-mode power conversion and precision feedback systems. As a senior member of the Analog, & Power Electronics Group you will help shape power system and analog hardware architectures and lead electronics development activities by applying sound engineering and project management principles.
Required Qualifications:
BSEE and 7+ years of experience or MSEE degree and 5+ years of experience.
Experience developing and implementing switched mode and linear power electronics designs.
Schematic capture and board layout experience.
Experience integrating and debugging power control systems.
Ability to perform circuit simulation using Spice or variants.
System modeling and analysis experience using MATLAB, Simulink, or other comparable tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge in one or more of the following areas: battery management systems, motor controller design, system-level power distribution design, system/board level grounding/shielding and EMC design techniques.
Radiation hardened and high reliability electronics design experience.
Experience with EMI/EMC qualification testing per commercial and military standards (e.g. MIL-STD-461, CRISPR 22, RTCA/DO-160, etc.).
Experience in design for harsh environments as embodied in common commercial and military standards (e.g. RTCA/DO-160, MIL-STD-810, etc.).
Knowledge of device characteristics relevant to power electronics, such as: MOSFETs, IGBTs, BJTs, JFETs, diodes, various capacitor families, etc.
