QA Manager

Overview:
Seeking a QA Manager to work out of Progeny Systems Canonsburg, PA location.
The ideal candidate should be able to:
* Develop departmental strategy and vision to ensure adherence with customer requirements and expectations.
* Implement methods to monitor products and processes for consistency in quality.
* Design and implement processes for collection for statistical information and conducts analysis for corrective action implementation, risk avoidance and general quality improvement.
* Interact with the production team with a hands-on approach to ensure quality processes are being adhered to and to identify opportunities for improvement.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Lead quality planning efforts throughout production environment to ensure all applicable contract requirements and deliverables are met.
* Oversee the Quality Management System for effectiveness and drive necessary updates to meet internal and external rules and regulations.
* Lead Quality initiatives throughout production, ensuring adequate resources, tools and training in place to ensure consistent process and quality of product. * Lead root cause/failure analysis process initiatives to minimize production downtime and improve production quality.
* Work with suppliers to help formulate quality standards to help minimize time and cost of inspection and reduces suppliers' defects.
* Coordinate efforts with supply chain to qualify new suppliers, develop supplier programs and support supplier improvement efforts.
* Review, analyze, and summarize data in order to create data-driven decisions within the production environment.
* Participate in and oversee continuous improvements projects to increase productivity, eliminate scrap, and reduce rework operations.
* Develop new inspection and testing procedures for products. Uses the information from testing and inspection reports to investigate the cause of defective products.
* Seeks to improve the quality of the delivered product as well as internal processes and instructions.
* Develops and implements processes and controls in accordance with ISO 9001: 2015 guidelines and is responsible for yearly registrar audits.
* Oversees and participates in external audits by our customers.
* Oversee, motivate, mentor and evaluate Quality Department's employee's performance.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
* Comprehensive written and verbal communication, interpersonal, facilitation, presentation, quantitative, analytical, organizational, and follow-up skills.
* Work independently, demonstrate effective management skills in working with multi-task assignments, interfacing with various engineering disciplines.
* The ability to meet deadlines on multiple projects as well as the ability to converse effectively with all levels of personnel.
* Advanced personal computer skills including spreadsheet, word processing, database management, and specialized applications.
* Must be able to handle multiple assignments and also perform in a diverse cross-functional team environment
.
Extensive Root Cause and Problem-Solving experience is highly desirable.
* Practical knowledge and experience with all aspects of the ASQ CQE Body of Knowledge.
* Broad technical knowledge with experience in an electronics assembly and ISO9001 or similar environment.
Education/Experience
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent is required plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience;or Master's degree plus a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience to meet managerial expectations.
* Preferred: Experience implementing QMS/TQM from ground up would be helpful.
